چکیده
The optimal design of single mixed refrigerant (SMR) natural gas liquefaction process is decisive for upgrading the liquefied (LNG) value chain and can be achieved using simulators derivative-free optimization techniques in simulation–optimization frameworks. work consumption reduced by modifying flowsheet manipulating refrigeration cycle thermodynamic conditions composition. goal this paper energy-efficient SMR LNG production approach, Aspen HYSYS® MATLAB®, that considers more decision variables to optimized with a Nelder–Mead simplex algorithm small modifications, such as hydraulic turbines flash separators between compression stages. present approach resulted network duty 750.2 kJ per kg gas, which considerably smaller than those reported literature.

Single-cycle mixed-fluid LNG process Part I: Optimal design
In this paper, we discuss the design optimization of a relatively simple LNG process; the PRICO process. A simple economic objective function is stated and used on eight different cases with varying constraints. Important constraints are discussed and the results are compared with the commercial PRICO process and with other publications.
متن کاملProcess Modelling and Validation of LNG Re-Liquefaction
During transportation, there will be vaporization of LNG producing boil-off gas (BOG) and its re-liquefaction is required considering that large volume of BOG to be vented out. A cryogenic refrigeration cycle is utilized in order to re-liquefy the BOG and returns it to the cargo tank. Kapitza and claude are the usually used LNG re-liquefaction cycles. The developments in the processes adopted f...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of Oxygen Refrigerant in an LNG BOG Re-liquefaction Plant
In this paper, an LNG BOG re-liquefaction system operating according to the Claude refrigeration cycle using oxygen as refrigerant is analysed. It includes a comprehensive exergy analysis of a BOG reliquefaction system installed onboard an LNG carrier. Commonly operating data have been used to carry out a thermodynamic analysis of the system. The system is basically made of two parts: Oxygen cy...
متن کاملDetermination of the Optimal Operating Condition of the Dual Mixed Refrigerant Cycle at the Pre-FEED stage of the LNG FPSO Topside Liquefaction Process
The dual mixed refrigerant (DMR) cycle, which pre-cools natural gas with the mixed refrigerants and then liquefies the natural gas with another set of mixed refrigerants, is well known for having the highest efficiency among the liquefaction cycles. Its possible application to LNG FPSO is also extensively investigated. In this study, the optimal operating conditions, such as the equipment’s flo...
متن کاملSingle-cycle mixed-fluid LNG process Part II: Optimal operation
Considering the large amount of work that goes into the design of LNG processes, there is surprisingly little attention to their subsequent operation. This partly comes from the assumption that optimal design and optimal operation are the same, but this is not generally true. In this paper we study the optimal operation of a relatively simple LNG process, namely the PRICO process.
